At Reservoir West Primary School parents/guardians are encouraged to assist in classrooms during Literacy sessions. The Classroom Helpers Program is aimed at developing partnerships between home and school to support and improve student learning.
The goal of the program is to ensure that parents/guardians learn basic skills to effectively help children in the Literacy sessions, and also so they can help their own children at home.
This term a training course is being provided for anyone interested in assisting with our Literacy Program. The course comprises two-one hour sessions designed to support the work of parents/guardians in the classroom. All participants complete the training course and require a ‘Working With Children Check’.
Becoming a classroom helper is a great way to become more involved and we welcome your support and commitment. The 2015 program is being conducted by Flavia Vangelista on a date to be determined.
